Wise Credit Card Tips

Credit Card Tips to Live By

So you’ve gotten your first credit card and you’re ready to start charging. Before you break that card in, read our credit card tips to make sure you really are ready to start using that credit card privilege you’ve been given.

Credit Card Tips #1. Balances

One of the most important credit card tips I can give you is to watch out for carrying a balance on your credit card. Balances can get you into trouble, so try to pay off your credit card balance each and every month and you’ll be in good shape.

Credit Card Tips #2. Cash Advances

Avoid cash advances unless absolutely necessary. The moment you take out a cash advance, interest begins accruing. Cash advances can be very expensive so it’s best to avoid them if at all possible.

Credit Card Tips #3. Introductory Offers

If you’re carrying a balance on your credit card because of an introductory offer you’ve received, make sure that the balance is paid off before the introductory rate expires or you’re going to be paying a pretty penny in finance charges.

Credit Card Tips #4. Examine Your Statements

Each month, examine your statements closely. If for any reason you’re unable to pay off your balance in its entirety one month, review your credit card statement and see if you can figure out why. You might need to cut back on expenses.
