Get a Better Deal from Your Credit Card Company

Can You Get Better Credit Card Terms?

If you’re like most credit card holders, you’re probably not completely satisfied with the terms of your credit card agreement. Whether you don’t like the interest rate you’re paying, your credit limit or the fees your credit card company charges, there’s probably at least one thing you’re not happy with. Believe it or not, getting what you want is sometimes just a matter of asking.

Not Happy With Your Interest Rate

If you think you are paying too high of an interest rate, you may want to talk to your current credit card company before applying for a lower-interest credit card. Oftentimes getting a lower interest rate from your current credit card provider is just a matter of asking.

To get a lower interest rate, call the customer service department of your credit card company and ask them how much your current interest rate is. When they tell you, tell them that you want it lowered. Don’t ask them -- tell them. Don’t say a thing until they respond to your demand. Oftentimes they will simply tell you what they can reduce your interest rate to and you may save yourself quite a bit of money in interest charges.

Get Rid of That Annual Fee

If you’re paying an annual fee, call your credit card company and tell them you want that fee credited to your credit card. Let them know if they don’t remove the annual fee from your account that you will close the account and go to another credit card company that doesn’t charge an annual fee.

Increase Your Credit Limit without a Credit Check

Oftentimes people want to have their credit limits increased, but they don’t want to have their credit report pulled so they forego asking for a credit limit increase on their credit card. Believe it or not, many credit card companies will increase your credit limit without pulling a credit report. All you have to do is call and ask how much the credit card company can increase your credit limit without pulling your credit report and then tell them that you want them to do it.

Think of it this way -- if you don’t ask, you’re definitely not going to get what you want. You’re not going to get in trouble for asking for these things, so you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If any of the above applies to you, get on the phone with your credit card company and make a change for the better.
