Do You Need To Go On a Credit Card Spending Diet?
Is Your Credit Card Spending Out of Control?
It’s really easy to get caught in a credit card trap. You make a few purchases thinking it’s only costing you a few dollars each month, then you make a few more purchases, and a few more, and before you know it you can’t afford the minimum monthly payments on your credit cards anymore. Your credit card spending is out of control. What do you do? Where can you turn?
Consolidate Your Debt
First things first, try to consolidate all of your credit card debt. It’s too late to go back and change the past, but you can work on your future. Consolidate your credit card debt onto one low-interest credit card and you’ll be able to afford the monthly payments and will be able to pay off the balance sooner.
Curb Your Spending
Now that you have all of your debt consolidated onto one credit card doesn’t mean you can go back on a spending spree. It’s time to curb your spending. Expenses that aren’t a complete necessity don’t need to go on your credit card. Dinners, movies, and that double shot of espresso should all be paid for with a rainy day fund, not with a credit card.
By consolidating your debt and keeping your credit card spending under control, you’ll be well on your way to a healthy financial recovery.
